There are not enough stars on the scale to coincide with how elated I am with the level of service and overall satisfying experience I received on my first visit to Woodard! (This review is lengthy, but I wanted to show the huge difference between my experience with the dealer and Woodard Automotive.) I recently purchased a Certified Preowned (CPO) Land Rover (LR)... but had feelings of buyer's remorse -- especially after leaving Land Rover's service department. There was a rattling sound in my dashboard. After a 2-3 minute drive with a mechanic, and without popping the hood, LR told me that I would have to leave the vehicle because the "entire dashboard would have to be disassembled". The service adviser claimed that finding the cause of rattles is "tricky". He implied that it is so labor-intensive that it would take an unknown number of hours to "TRY to fix the problem..."; "there's no guarantee that it could be fixed...", and "the problem could even get worse... because you never know about rattles". (Imagine, purchasing a CPO vehicle, under warranty, but non-mechanical, non-electrical issues like "rattles" are not included in coverage.) As if their initial display of incompetence wasn't enough, the service adviser stopped me as I was getting into my vehicle and added - "...the other option is to wait until something worse happens in the dash... then Land Rover would cover it." I'm almost sure LR wouldn't take too kindly to that advice. (lol) And, why would he think I'd feel comfortable driving a vehicle that could potentially get worse, or leave me stranded somewhere -- primarily because I took the insane advice to ignore the rattle. (SMH) Their incompetence/fumbling blindly, hoping to get lucky and find the problem, would have cost me $246/hr. It took Woodard's owners, Andy, Lori, and a stethoscope (fondly called Dr. Andy) (smile) MINUTES to pinpoint the problem! I assume the mistake was probably made during the 165-point CPO inspection. (SMH) Needless to say, after leaving Woodard, I didn't even grant LR the courtesy of canceling my appointment. No call, no show is what they deserved. If Woodard accepts Land Rover's warranty and vice versa - I would breathe a sigh of relief, because I do NOT want to return to the dealer -- not even for repairs that are covered under the warranty. These days, it is virtually impossible to find a great master mechanic who can be trusted - in addition to a well-equipped facility to meet the demands of services needed to repair high-tech/late model vehicles. Woodard encompasses all of it! I thank God that I was led to Woodard's website. They are welcoming, personable, professional, and most of all competent and highly experienced! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

This auto shop saved our bacon! My husband and I were halfway into a 2 hour drive - towing a boat [in the rain with 2 dogs in the car]. When we stopped at Arbys, we noticed one of the trailer brakes had frozen up and was smoking! A 7-11 clerk and a tire shop finally directed us to Woodward. The shop owner immediately, jacked it up, analyzed the problem and made it safe to go back on the highway. He didn't charge for his effort and even refused a tip!! [...saying he does not normally work on trailers]. The world should have more people like this. Thank you - thank you - thank you!!!!

Took my 2011 F150 that I just bought in due to suspension noises and a rolling noise that sounded like it was coming from the bed. They found the hidden rolling noise, but couldn't find the suspension noise when they test drove it, so they inspected my suspension instead and confirmed it was still structurally safe despite any noises that may occur. Best part is, they didn't charge a dime because they said no real work was done! The honesty is hard to come by nowadays, would definitely recommend them to a friend.

In traveling from Brooklyn NY to Greensboro, NC, my son & I found ourselves with car trouble on I-95. We found this shop after much research and reading reviews for mechanics in the area. Initially, we were towed to the nearby Honda dealer as they were the only auto shop opened at the time. They quoted me a price of $2200, and maybe even more once they opened my engine, to fix my car. They did not have the part, which gave me time to get a 2nd opinion on the next day (we had to spend the night in VA). Thank God for that. I did my research of mechanics in the area, and Woodard had the best reviews. This is what led me to them. Still optimistic as to the legitimacy of the reviews, as they were all great. Well, this is another GREAT review! I would give them 10 stars, but the max is 5. I found them to be very pleasant, trustworthy, and just the best auto shop I've ever had to use. Wish I could talk them into re-locating to NY. In my experience, when mechanics can't find anything wrong, they make up something, selling you stuff that does not fix your problem (the Honda dealer). If Woodard can't find a problem, they charge you nothing. I could not believe this as most mechanics charge you just to raise your hood. To Andy & Lori at Woodard, I say thank you so much for your great service and your honesty. To anyone who lives in the area or traveling through, and looking for a great & honest mechanic, I highly recommend Woodard Automotive in Fredericksburg, VA. And just so you know, Andy did find my problem. But because it was so small (won't go into those details, review would be too long), my cost at this shop was still $0.

First off, I'm always cautious about businesses with super high review ratings. However, I went with this establishment because it was the closest to me. I wasn't disappointed at all. Having your vehicle break down and needing repairs/maintenance can be stressful. Finding an honest and reasonable mechanic shop is another type of stress. Luckily, Woodard Automotive was an affordable and professional business. They got my car in quickly and out in no time. Always the receptionist was friendly and kept me up to date on the whole process. The only thing I didn't like was that they recommended an expensive tow truck company. Overall, great company.

I found her to be very understanding. Trust me, I was in a bad spot. I was worried the repairs would be more than the value of my vehicle. I no longer have that problem and now have new front rotors and front brake pads. Andy installed an Eaton TrueTrac in my 2017 Ford Transit XLT350 van. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work, the customer interaction, the timeliness of the work, and how I was kept completely informed of how the work was progressing. There are numerous details about this install that must be done correctly. I was aware of them before I inquired if Woodward Automotive could to the work. In my initial conversation with Andy, he mentioned all of these details without any prompting from me. When I got my van back, the differential was totally quiet. This was one indication to me that the install was done correctly. I had read in a Ford Transit user forum about other experiences having an Eaton TrueTrac installed who didn't have as positive experience with their install as I did with mine. Some had done the install themselves and some had it done at their local shop. The result I received from Andy and Woodward Automotive couldn't have been better. It says to me that you can have them do whatever work you need done and you will end up being satisfied with the result.

I have had oil changes, inspections, and wheel alignments completed at Woodard Automotive, and they are always fair and professional. I recently purchased new tires and was told that my vehicle's rear brakes needed to be replaced. I contacted Woodard's and dropped my car off, expecting to have the vehicle brakes replaced. I got a call from Lori, who stated that the front and rear brakes were inspected and did not need to be replaced. Lori also explained to me the amount of available brake life left on the front and rear pads. I always admired their professionalism, but I now admire their honesty too! I have used Woodard Automotive many times; in fact, I drive from the Holly Grove area in Louisa County - about an hour drive - just to come here and I will continue. Today I had a State Inspection done and I asked them to check for a blown fuse for the cigarette lighter/accessory port, which they did and replaced for no charge! Andy and his wife Lori run this shop and are not only incredibly nice folks, they are honest as the day is long. An honest mechanic is often hard to find and as a woman, I have been bamboozelled more than once by mechanics who bet on the fact that I did not know anything about cars to wring a few (or many!) extra dollars out of me, but I know that won't happen at Woodards!

Great service and people. I have used Woodard for my F350 after others failed to understand my diesel truck. I am embarrassed I fail to be able to list their names even though they recognize me and my truck. Today they gave the extra effort when I showed up at their time of closing. The mechanic identified the foul noise was my bearings and stayed late to repair my truck. Awesome people. Their manager (lady at the front desk) is very on top of things since it was her suggestions with prior repairs to replace the Ford lock out hubs with a better brand which saved me now. She had also advised with a prior break repair higher performance rotor's which again saved me today. Smart lady - very intelligent. Repair costs where much less than if I had used Pervis Ford which had not been able to offer the upgrades. Awesome people!!

I have never dealt with another repair shop as customer oriented as Woodard's. Our truck needed an inspection and some minor adjustments to the emergency brake which Andy took care of immediately. The owners and employees treat you like family. They are very warm, welcoming and friendly. A lot of repair shops will try to take advantage of female customers. I can honestly say this is not the case here. I am perfectly comfortable taking my vehicles to Woodard's or calling to ask any questions I may have.

Usually when you walk into a shop for inspection they try to up sale services and repairs to offset having to do inspections. That's not the case here and I appreciate honest people.

Two days after my boyfriend and I started financing a car, the check engine light came on and our hearts sank. We couldn't take it back to the dealer because he had already told me twice over the phone it "wasn?t his responsibility anymore" and we were feeling very disheartened. Andy and Lori are great. Go here. I happened upon them after dealing with a check engine light for 6 months and several mechanics including the Dodge Dealership. No one could fix the problem. They assured me they could. They fixed it in a day. When the light came back on due to a non OEM part they took it right back in and installed an OEM part at no cost. I offered to pay them the difference in cost because they were only trying to save me money with the aftermarket part but they wouldn't accept it. They are honest, fair, and very reasonable.

Woodard takes the best care of my car! They are friendly, their prices were the same when I took my old beater car in as they are in my new pretty car. I took my car to Woodard's a couple weeks ago to get it inspected, and I called around noon to see if they could do it if I brought my car in at 4, which is the earliest I could get my car there (they typically stop doing inspections at 4). They said it shouldn't be a problem, and I was in and out within 10 minutes. I've never had a problem taking my car to Woodard's, and they are always very nice. I would recommend it to anyone!

Very helpful, professional, fair, and competent. Here's my story...I was visiting my daughter in Louisa VA to help her buy a used car. Since the Fredericksburg/Stafford area has many more car-buying options than Louisa, we concentrated our search there. I needed a mechanic to check out the cars we were considering, and quickly too, since I only had three days to complete this task. I choose Woodard based on limited but very positive Yelp reviews. We were treated like long-term customers even though my daughter lives an hour and a half away, and I have to travel by plane. I feel comfortable with the choice based on my confidence in Woodard's inspection. I strongly recommend them.

A year ago, I happened to be staying nearby the shop and when a hose broke, had it towed there out of convenience. I have found the Woodard brothers to be honest, competent and reasonably priced. My vehicle is foreign, 18 years old and complicated, but they had no problem doing a mild restoration, getting it into good working order. The dealership failed it on state inspection for things that Woodard found to be unneeded -- even though they could have done it anyway and made extra money on me. I am now living 30 miles away and will continue to take it there as my #1 trusted source of excellent maint and repair.
